ReDock Web

Connect a site

Install ReDock Connect, type a code, and the site is on your list. Onboard a whole list the same way.

  1. In ReDock Web, press Pair a site. You get a short code, eight characters from an alphabet with nothing in it that can be misread.
  2. Install the ReDock Connect plugin on the WordPress site (Plugins → Add new → Upload, using the zip ReDock Web hands you).
  3. Open Settings → ReDock Connect in that site’s wp-admin and type the code.

The site delivers its own key and appears on your list a moment later. A code lasts 24 hours, works once, and dies on the fifth wrong try.

A whole list at once

Onboard a list takes a paste of addresses and mints a code per site, up to a hundred from one paste, with a printable sheet you can hand out. Rows go green as the sites answer. A batch can join a client group as it connects, so the filing happens once.

Who holds what

The site keeps the key. Every request between the site and ReDock Web is signed with it, and a request that is not signed correctly is refused. The key reaches inside the folders a site is edited in; it cannot touch wp-config.php or the site root.

One site can be paired with more than one client, each with its own key: your desktop app, your workspace, a colleague’s. The plugin’s settings page lists them all, with a Revoke next to each. Deactivating the plugin ends every connection at once.
